Healing Stress and Anxiety

Stress can impact your brain, your physical health and your relationships. Our focus is on helping you enjoy life and feel rested and restored again.

If you’re struggling with stress or burnout, your body can feel like it’s stuck in “survival mode,” our job is to help you find your way back to feeling safe, soothed and supported.

Trauma Informed Stress Reduction

When we’re overwhelmed, people tend to protect themselves in the fastest way we can, often we unconsciously revert to old coping mechanisms or harmful behaviors. In distress, it can feel like we don’t have access to the more philosophical and emotionally intelligent parts of ourselves. Under stress, it’s harder to challenge unhelpful thoughts that were formed in response to trauma—like "It was my fault" or "I'm not safe." These thoughts often feel automatic and true, even if they aren’t.

By learning to notice these patterns, examine the evidence, and replace them with more balanced and compassionate thoughts, people can begin to reduce shame, anxiety, and self-blame. It’s not about “thinking positive” — it’s about thinking more accurately and more kindly. Our work together can help you get into a peaceful, relaxed state where that’s accessible..

Mindfulness & Mental Health

In addition to EMDR, I utilize a gentle, insight-focused combination of mindfulness and motivational interviewing. That means that I listen closely, ask questions, and reflect your own wisdom back to you.

When it’s helpful, I also offer you techniques, guided meditations, and coping skills that you can practice on your own, like short meditations, breathing exercises, visualizations, and strategies for recognizing ways of thinking and responding to emotions that are keeping you from your goals and feeling at home in your body and mind. The focus is on you and what you’re wanting and needing at a given time.

What’s Next?

We start with an initial consultation call. Once we set up a meeting, consistency is important, it helps us get to know each other and build trust and understanding. It also helps new changes stick and helps you build on the insights you have made. I suggest committing to therapy for about 90 days. That's usually enough time to feel out whether your therapist is a good fit for you and to notice changes that are happening in your life.

Insurance

While I do not participate as an in-network insurance provider, almost all of my clients are reimbursed by their insurance providers on an out-of-network basis, some are covered at in-network rates. I can help you find out exactly how much will be covered in our consult call.

Payment Options: Cash, Check, Health Savings Account, PayPal

If you’re ready to learn how to manage stress (and it’s impacts on your life) in a more empowered way, the next step is to schedule a consultation call.
